As I’ve mentioned on my previous post (found
here and
here, there’s a good
selection of lodging in Diniwid. From high-end, mid-range to the unique, there’s
definitely something to suit different travelers. We stayed at Orinda Boracay,
but I was able to take a peek at other options.

For the ones seeking a hotel with top of the line amenities
and luxury, there’s Nami Private Villas. The villas at Nami are situated on the
cliffs. They would look familiar as they are visible on the boat ride en route
to Boracay and vise versa, or you might have seen it on your island-hopping
excursions. The unique thing with Nami is they built an elevator that goes from
the cliffs to a platform lined with lounge chairs, just a couple of steps to
the beach. It offers a beautiful view of Diniwid Beach. We were not able to
look at the villas so that’s all I can say about Nami.

For a different kind of lodging, how about Spider House? No,
this is not a spider sanctuary in Boracay, and no, I don’t think you’d be
cohabiting with spiders (although lots of birds flew by). I think it’s named
that way because they offer accommodations that allow you to be one with
nature. Spider House is situated on the edge of the cliffs, past the Nami
Villas platform. To get here is already an adventure. You think you’d be going
inside a cave that would lead to a dead end, but as you go deeper, you’d get to
a landing and see the sign for Spider House.

To be one with nature is an on going theme in Spider House. The
rooms, like individual bahay-kubo (traditional
Filipino huts), were designed to sit on top of the rock formations. They offer
bare necessities in their rooms, which means, no air-conditioning and no
television (and other things humans use for distraction). The most basic rooms
don’t have their own private bathroom; there is a common one shared by
customers. There’s a lounging area sitting on the edge of the cliff, with slab
of wood as tables, bamboo chairs, a bar and a hammock. From the ceiling to the
floor, everything is made of all natural materials. The side looking out to the
water is lined with wood railings and offers an unobstructed beautiful view of
the sky, sea and boats. They placed a bamboo ladder in an opening so people can
get to the water.

Spider House offers the ultimate escape from the hustle and
bustle of everyday life. Not only will you feel like you’re in a deserted
island but also transported to a time when life was simpler. Here, you can just
catch up on reading, enjoy an occasional dip in the sea, or simply, reflect on
life under the bright cloudy sky.
Hey, nice site you have here! Keep up the excellent work!
