One Spa-bulous Day

One week before my friend’s wedding, I got early at our friend’s house to make sure everything is ready for our surprise bridal shower-spa party. I picked a home service spa company after reviewing and contacting more than 10 companies, probably close to 20. I viewed all the links Google suggested for the keywords “spa party home service”. I want to make sure we get the most value for our money (always my primary objective when picking goods and services).

Finally, I found Spabulous. They only do home service and have spa party package options in their website (it seems they’re the perfect fit for my keywords, but for some reason they were at the last few pages, why Google??). The spa party packages in their website are a little over our budget, but still I e-mailed them and gave the details of our planned spa party. Spabulous responded quickly to my e-mail, customized a package for our budget and was very accommodating with all my requests. They even gave three options for us to choose from, all within our budget, clearly very sensitive to our needs.
On that gloomy Saturday, I entered the room and found they’ve already decorated with balloons, set the mood with candles, oil burner and relaxing music. They brought everything needed for the services we availed. There were robes, towels, massage oils, foot spa machine, including a thermos with ginger tea and tea cups. Nina, the owner, even came with the spa specialists. She was very attentive to our needs and made sure everything was all set.

The foot spa was first on the list. My skin felt good after getting soaked in the bubbling water, callous scraped, then my feet was rinsed in warm water. After the foot spa, it’s time for the foot reflexology. It was tickling at first but got relaxing as the specialist got to my tired calves. While that’s happening, I was also getting a 30-minute chair massage, which composed of back and shoulder massage, arm and hand massage and head massage.  I could fall asleep right there in the couch.

As one by one we finished the treatments, they started serving the ginger tea. It was just supposed to be one serving per person, but my friends liked it and requested seconds. Without another word or mention of the one serving rule, the specialist poured more tea. After the treatments, everyone was relaxed and happy.

Spabulous packed up their stuff and you almost can’t tell that the room was turned into a spa for a few hours. After the Spabulous party (I mean the ladies in pink, the party still continued) left, we gathered around for some girl talk and good eats. It was a spa-bulous day!
